Working Rules.
Rule 1.
Keep your mouth shut! If you decide to become active tell no one except those
who agree to work with you.
Rule 2.
Be certain of those people you intend to work alongside. The best way of doing
this is to only work with people you have known for a long time. Avoid working
with anyone you are unsure of.
Rule 3.
Keep your team small. Begin slowly, doing only small amounts of work. Once
you gain experience you will become more efficient than you might imagine.
Rule 4.
Practice makes perfect! Decide on what you intend, gather your equipment,
personnel, materials, (in secret, of course) and practice as much as you can;
that means construction, transportation, location, and placement.
Rule 5.
Work at night. Darkness is not universally constant! It varies from area to
area, with the phases of the moon, weather, volume of traffic, local lighting,
vegetation, etc. Remember also that sounds travel farther at night, so minimise
any noise you are likely to make.
Rule 6.
Never work in straight lines. Vary your routes, areas of work, transport,
and materials. Be unpredictable.
Rule 7.
Work fast! Know what you intend, carry your task out quickly, efficiently,
noiselessly, and with the minimum of light. The longer you take, the higher
the risk of detection becomes.
Rule 8.
Practice security. Carry nothing that helps identify you. If captured do not
engage in conversation with 'nice guy' policeman: all he wants is to put you
out of business! Do not be fooled by claims that 'others are co-operating'.
"When a policeman's lips are moving he's either eating or telling lies"!
Rule 9.
Police yourself. It is customary to celebrate a 'job well done': but not in
this case. Celebrations attract attention, and that will get you caught! Do
not brag, boast, hint, nod or wink that you are in any way involved in resistance
activity. Do not visit your works, take 'photo's, or compile a scrapbook on
them. Dispose of unused materials carefully.
Rule 10.
The 'Golden Rule' is never to admit anything, even if you were caught 'red
handed'. Stay Silent! Buy yourself time, and obtain a solicitor as quickly
as you can. Remember, "Anything you do say can be edited, miss-represented,
taken out of context, embellished, and used to convict you", so STAY
SILENT.
