Saltire Boards.

Very simply a piece of flat board with our nations flag painted on its surface! No one can misunderstand your message.

What you will need in the way of supplies are;

Azure Blue gloss paint
Brilliant white gloss paint
Boards; look in your local skip!
Masking tape
Craft knife
Paintbrushes
Pencil and ruler
Saw, hammer, and some nails about 3 inches long.
Drill and 3 or 4mm drill bits
Steps, ladder, or shoulders to stand on.

Decide on the size your boards are going to be. 18x12 inch or thereabouts is fine.
Paint your cut boards with blue paint. Wait till dry.
Draw lines in X fashion from corner to corner on your boards, and then widen those lines, equal distance each side, so that you have a 3 inch wide diagonal cross.
Use your masking tape to mark out your cross making sure the tape is on the outside of your lines.
Use your craft knife to remove the unwanted central pieces of masking tape.
Paint inside your taped lines with the white paint. Wait until dry. Run your craft knife along the painted edge of your tapes then carefully remove them.
Repeat the above until you have your required amount of boards.
Using your drill and bit bore one hole in each of the top and bottom blue triangles.
Locate sites to display your works. Roadside trees and telephone poles are best.
Erect as many boards as your area requires.

If you are very artistic you might like to try making more complex designs; 'Lion Rampant' perhaps? For this you will require Canary Yellow and Fire Engine Red paints.
